Connecting to Health ConnectUpdated a month ago

Overview

  • Health Connect Sync allows you to share your health and activity data from the app with Health Connect on your Android phone.

Detailed Explanation

  • Before connecting, make sure the app is updated to its latest version.
  • Health Connect requires a smartphone running Android 9 or higher, with Google Play Services installed.
  • To connect, go to Settings → Authorise Data Sharing → Connect to Health Connect within the app, then authorise the sync when prompted.
  • On first use, you'll be asked to select which health data types you want to share with Health Connect. Enable the data types you want to sync.
  • If you need to change the data types the app shares later on, go to the Health Connect app on your phone and configure the app's data permissions.

Important: Google Fit

  • Google Fit is being phased out in favour of Health Connect, and direct syncing from Android apps straight to Google Fit is no longer supported.
  • If you'd like your data to also appear in Google Fit or a related Google app, this is managed entirely within Google's own apps and settings, separate from this app.

Important: Data From Multiple Sources

  • Health Connect can combine data from multiple sources, such as other apps or devices.
  • When Health Connect receives step data from several sources, it adds them together and displays the combined total.
  • This can cause a discrepancy between the step count shown in this app or on your ring, versus the total shown in Health Connect.

Precautions

  • Data shown in Health Connect may not match the app or your ring exactly if you use multiple connected apps or devices.
  • If you notice unexpected totals in Health Connect, check which data sources are enabled within its app permissions.
