How does sleep tracking work?Updated 14 days ago

Relevant models: Active Pro & Motion Pro.

Your Sekonda Smart Watch uses advanced motion-sensing technology to monitor your sleep patterns. It tracks your sleep by detecting movement and activity levels while you rest, providing insights into both the duration and quality of your sleep.

How it works:

  • The built-in accelerometer detects subtle wrist movements to determine whether you are awake, in light sleep, deep sleep, or REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement).

  • REM sleep is typically when dreaming occurs and is the lightest sleep phase. The watch identifies this phase based on minimal movement and changes in body signals.

To ensure accurate sleep tracking:

  • Wear your watch securely on your non-dominant wrist, about two finger-widths above the wrist bone.

  • Avoid wearing the watch too loosely, as poor contact with the skin can reduce accuracy.

  • Make sure your watch has sufficient battery before going to bed to ensure a full night of data recording.

  • Sleep data is generally recorded between 21:30 and 12:00 the next day.

Note: Short naps (less than 3 hours), restless movement, or frequently interrupted sleep may not be recorded accurately. Watching TV or using a device while lying still may occasionally be misinterpreted as sleep.
