My ring isn't syncing or connecting to the appUpdated a month ago

Overview

  • This article covers steps to try if your ring won't connect, or shows as connected but isn't syncing data.

Detailed Explanation

  • Wake up your phone: standby mode can cause Bluetooth disconnections. Wake your phone and try again.
  • On iOS, the app may be closed automatically by the system if it's left running in the background, which can disconnect Bluetooth. Restart the app to resume syncing.
  • If the app shows your ring as connected but no data (time, steps, or activity) is syncing, this may be due to a broken connection. Try removing and reconnecting the Bluetooth pairing:
    • In the app: go to Settings → Disconnect Device.
    • On your phone: go to Settings → Bluetooth, tap the info icon next to your ring's name, then select "Forget This Device."
    • Reconnect your phone and ring through the app as normal.
  • If the connection still fails, try turning Bluetooth off and back on, or close and restart the app.
  • If you're syncing for the first time, this may simply take longer, please see below.

Why Is Syncing Taking a Long Time?

  • The first time your ring connects to the app, it automatically syncs all existing data, which can take longer than usual.
  • Swipe down on the app's home screen to manually refresh and sync new data.
  • Typically, syncing between the app and ring takes around 60 seconds.

Precautions

  • Always pair and manage your ring through the app rather than your phone's Bluetooth settings directly, except when troubleshooting a connection as described above.
  • If none of these steps resolve the issue, please contact our customer service team for further support.
