Overview

• Sleep is a body process that allows your body and brain to rest. Without enough quality sleep, your body and brain can’t work as it should. Sleep measures how long you spend in each sleep stage and your average heart rate, HRV and blood oxygen percentage overnight.

Detailed Explanation

• Sleep is tracked using a combination of heart rate and movement sensors. The device monitors your heart rate and body movements throughout the night, and when both indicate that you are resting and inactive, it identifies that you are asleep. This information is then used to estimate your sleep duration and sleep stages. Users can review their sleep history over the course of a day, week or month to understand their averages. The ring also monitors and gives an average heart rate, HRV and blood oxygen level over the course of the night.

Sleep Stages

• Awake: The transition period from wakefulness to sleep.

• Light Sleep: The transitional stage between wakefulness and deep sleep.

• Deep Sleep: Also known as slow-wave sleep, this is the stage where physical restoration occurs.

• REM Sleep: The stage where vivid dreaming happens, and your brain processes emotions and memories.

Precautions

• Sleep duration requirements vary from person to person. The recommended amount of sleep needed for an adult aged 18+ is seven to nine hours.

• Personal circumstances and your health status can affect how much sleep you need. For example, if you're sick or recovering from an injury, you may need to sleep more. If you're pregnant, you may need more sleep during the first trimester.
