Pairing with a new phoneUpdated 12 days ago
Overview
- This article explains how to move your smart ring from one phone to another.
Detailed Explanation
- A ring can only be actively connected to one phone at a time, so it needs to be unpaired from your old phone before pairing with a new one.
- On your old phone: in the app, go to Settings → Disconnect Device, then confirm.
- On your old phone: due to iOS design, your iPhone and the ring also have a separate dedicated Bluetooth connection. Go to your iPhone Settings → Bluetooth, locate the device, click on the 'i' icon, select "Forget This Device", and confirm.
- Confirm the ring and phone have adequate battery. Make sure the ring is near your new phone and isn't still paired or connected to another device.
- On your new phone: make sure your phones Bluetooth is switched on. Go to your phones settings → Bluetooth and toggle this on.
- In the Sekonda Smart Ring app on your new phone, go to Settings → Add New Device, then follow the on-screen prompts to complete pairing.

Precautions
- Always unpair the ring from your old phone first. Including removing it from that phone's Bluetooth settings before pairing with a new one, to avoid connection issues.
- If you connect to the ring directly via your phone's Bluetooth this will not work. You need to connect the ring via the Sekonda Smart Ring App.
- If the ring won't pair with the new phone, it may still be linked to the old device; double check both the app and Bluetooth settings on the old phone.
